The Advent Calendar

Wednesday night drinks... It's time for a bit of mid-week glamour.

Follow in the footsteps of Olivia Palermo, who loves to sport a bit of feather action, with this flirty mini from Net-a-porter.

Be bang on trend and stand out from the crowd with this fun and exotic take on the simple black mini. Pair with understated high heels and it'll make your legs look sky high.

At the moment I am completely in love with big statement rings. My only rule is that they have to be classy and tasteful though.

Opt for gold and it will instantly update any outfit with a bit of Christmas bling. This subtle one is available in a range of colours, and is the perfect accessory for the office, pub or even the dance floor. Buy immediately!

A bit of office glamour is the perfect way to beat the Monday morning blues.

Next season is all about pleats, so get ahead of the crowd with this luxurious pale gold midi.

Expect to be the centre of some office envy as you show off this floaty, lightweight piece. Ending just below the knees, it drapes beautifully.

Swap your office tailoring for a lacy top and big heels and this skirt will carry you right through from the office to the Christmas disco. It doesn't get much better.

What better way to end the weekend than with a new pair of shoes? And fashion doesn't get much prettier than this.

Swap your usual black heels, for this edgier charcoal colour. The peep toe and lace tie bow keep this shoe girly and cute.

Surely this is a last minute addition to the Christmas list!

I cannot find the words to describe how luscious this skirt is.

A truly decadent piece - silver sparkling sequins appear to tumble down this skirt, which drapes beautifully to the floor. It is the perfect statement piece for fashion lovers. Glamorous, opulent, modern and sexy.

This skirt is eye-catching without being overly fussy or loud. The long length ensures the skirt maintains an air of elegance and sophistication, while still drawing attention.

Team with a chunky knit and this is the perfect dinner party outfit.

For the girl who has everything...

This beautiful statement bracelet from Oliver Bonas is a real conversation piece for fashion lovers everywhere.

Showcasing the ultimate Christmas colours - black and gold, at £22 this bracelet is a bit of a bargain, and I'm adding it to my wish list right away.

The huge agate stone and strips of small, square stone beading is both eye-catching and original, while capturing a feel of glamorous past eras. A fantastic piece.

The Advent Calendar

This is the season to get away with heavily embellished accessories, so go all out. This bag is the ultimate in glitz and glamour, and I love the retro shape and chain strap. To balance the look, keep hair and make-up natural.

The Advent Calendar

It was the seventh day of Christmas and my true love gave to me... these glorious, glitter shoeboots.

Shoeboots are a modern winter classic - they go with everything from jeans to skirts to tapered trousers; making them not only gorgeous to look at, but also functional and practical (words rarely associated with fashion items).

With this shoe you can't go wrong - a beautiful slim heel, almost pointed toe and available in the colour of the moment (the catwalks were chock-a-block with grey for Autumn and Winter).

The glitter trim makes this shoeboot the perfect one for the Christmas season. Use it to dress up a little black dress, or sneak into your work wardrobe with a pair of tapered, silk trousers. Almost good enough to eat.

There isn't a more perfect way to start a Monday morning than with a gorgeous piece like this.

Each skirt is hand-painted and therefore completely unique. Fitted as snug as a bug in a rug, this essential Winter maxi will be the perfect partner for a chunky knit. Add some bangles and heeled boots, a la Winter delight.

The sweetest thing to find in your stocking this year is undoubtedly this cute sequinned top.

A luscious mix of sequins, light weight fabrics, soft hued colours and a straight, loose fit. Girly without being over-the-top.

Great with cigarette pants or a black leather mini for a party look. Alternatively, team with jeans and cute ballet pumps for a relaxed night with the girls.

As the Christmas parties get under away, a Saturday night treat hides behind door number four.

Inject some sparkle into your Christmas wardrobe with this eye-catching, silver glitter clutch. Pair with an old faithful little black dress and you're party ready.

It's even big enough to fit all those party essentials in - from make-up to camera to purse.

Sealed with Sienna's approval (she was spotted wearing these out and about with Jude in London recently), these shorts are the perfect alternative to a party frock this season.

The tailored, loose fit adds a masculine edge to an otherwise feminine piece. I love the subdued colour tone - a sure way to achieve grown-up glamour. And the turn up and suede texture ensure the piece is bang on trend.

Just add killer heels and a silk blouse to the equation, and you'll be sure to stand out from the crowd.

The countdown to Christmas starts here...

Velvet? Tick. Gold? Tick. Tough detail sole? Tick. This shoe hits all the key trends this season, and let's be honest, what girl wouldn't love to find this under her tree come Christmas morning? Extra marks for the patent strap, cloudy blue colour and cut out detail. The tailored structure makes this shoe perfect for Winter's peg trouser; alternatively, team with a short party dress to toughen up a feminine look.

Two are better than one

Started on the Chanel A/W 2010 catwalks, a penchant for doubling up on jewellery has spread like quick-fire. No matter what trend you're sporting, accessories speak volumes, and in the season of all things glittering and sparkling now is the time to add a pinch of maximalism to your look. Double up the dose of bracelets - one on each wrist (but always matching). The one rule: bracelets have to be big. Opt for sophisticated and gem like, a la Emily Blunt, to create the perfect glamorous look for a Christmas party. Alternatively, make like the Missoni catwalk and mix chrome cuffs with blanket knits, ribbed leggings and capes to create the perfect daytime layered look.
